The purpose of this position is to develop the Doctrine, Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTP) for the THAAD system to be used by the operators at the battery level; gather information and material on lessons learned to incorporate into this project from the material developers, program office, TRADOC, and the user community; transition into instructor of a portion of the THAAD Operator course.
PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES:
Writes doctrine for THAAD in support of the DOTD-LD at Fort Bliss in order to provide accurate information on use of the THAAD system for the operators and planners assuring that THAAD units can properly utilize the THAAD system and that the manual is accepted by the user community as the standard guideline for operations.
Writes THAAD Gunnery Tables to provide a training and certification guideline for battery trainers assuring that unit reports properly trained individuals and crews who can perform warfighting missions.
Develops new business for i2 to assure the company’s growth through establishment of contacts the company can use to generate new business.
Instructs portions of the THAAD Operator course in order to assure the warfighter is thoroughly trained on the THAAD system.
PROFESSIONAL INTERACTIONS:
Interacts with: DOTD-LD Doctrine Branch to report progress of manuals; TCM-UT to gather information on changes in THAAD development and gather warfighter input/feedback; THAAD Project Office to gather information on THAAD development to assure manual is current; ADA DCD to ensure THAAD manual is accurate on threats and developing role ADA envisions for THAAD system as it transitions into an Army system
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Bachelors, masters, doctorate degree from an accredited institution required in engineering, science or other related field relevant to support in which the individual is performing. A masters degree may be substituted for two years of experience. A doctorate degree may be substituted for four years of experience. Experience may be substituted for degree requirements as follows: four years experience for bachelors; three years experience for masters; three years experience for doctorate (i.e., if someone had a high school diploma, he/she would require ten years of related experience to that already shown in the matrix for a particular labor category requiring a doctorate.
Experience: 16+ years experience; ten years direct experience
Professional Certifications: Instructor certification desired.
Special Training/Skills:
Systems Approach to Training course; THAAD Q course; Supervisor Development Course, Support Operations courses; MANPRINT Applications Course; Action Officer development course desired
Familiarity with government contracting; business consulting; military processes and procedures; Department of Defense security procedures/training a plus.
