Release Notice Version 3.6.2
RELEASE OF VERSION 3.6.2 – i2ACT-800 PRO AND i2ACT-800s
Imprimis is pleased to announce the release of the i2ACT-800 v3.6.2. This release includes support for Access 2016 for environments where is it not feasible to upgrade to Access 2019 (which was the focus of i2ACT-800 v3.6.1). i2ACT-800 v3.6.2 supports Access 2016 32-bit C2R (and Access 2016 included in Office 2016 32-bit C2R) and Access 2016 64-bit MIS (included in volume licenses for Access 2016 64-bit MSI and Office 2016 64bit MSI).
The major difference between the Access 2019 and Access 2016 editions of i2ACT-800 are the graphing facilities.
-
The Access 2016 editions of i2ACT-800 PRO and i2ACT-800s support the older graphing facility available in Access 2016.
-
The Access 2019 editions of i2ACT-800 PRO and i2ACT-800s support the new, modern graphing facility in Access 2019.
-
In addition, v3.6.2 includes some minor cosmetic changes and fixes.
With the end of Microsoft’s support for Windows 7 in January 2020, i2ACT-800 PRO and i2ACT-800s are no longer supported on Windows 7. Although, i2ACT-800 PRO and i2Act-800s will likely continue to run on Windows 7, it is no longer recommended. The V3.6.2 features and updates include:
-
Support for Access 2016 64-bit MSI.
-
Support for Access 2016 32-bit C2R.
-
Updates to the report graphs to support the old Access 2016 graph facility or the new Access 2019 graph facility as appropriate.
-
Various bug fixes and some cosmetic updates.
Just as v3.6.1, v3.6.2 is fully supported for Access 2019 stand-alone and Access 2019 included in Office 354, both 32-bit and 64-bit. Customers with current subscriptions can download v3.6.2 for no additional charge. NOTES: 1. i2ACT-800 v3.6, v3.6.1, and v3.6.2 are functionally equivalent and support the same revisions of the NIST 800-53, NIST 800-171, and DSS AAPM security standards. i2ACT-800 v3.6 is compatible with Access 2016 MSI but will not run under Access 2019 or Access 2016 C2R. i2ACT-800 v3.6 will be supported until the release of i2ACT-800 v4.0.
We anticipate that the next major update (v4.0) to the i2ACT-800 PRO and i2ACT-800s tools will include:
-
DoD CMMC (Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification) requirements and baselines.
-
NIST 800-171B (draft or final). With the v4.0 update, the user will be able to select either 800-171 or 800-171B at the beginning of an assessment.
-
Enhanced functionality allowing multiple tasks per requirement to be defined in the assessment process thereby enhancing the POA&M produced directly from the tool.
-
Enhanced notetaking to include an area for the assessor’s unpublished notes.
-
(Potentially) A professional Assessor’s version of the tool which includes the Imprimis Cybersecurity Compliance Essentials (IC2E™) for each requirement or control, including remediation items.
-
Any revisions or errata updates published by NIST (800-53, 800-53A, 800-171, 800-171A, Handbook 162) or DSS during the interim period.
