Free and Educational Webinar Series

Cybersecurity Risk Management and Compliance (RMC), although practiced in a few segments, is new to most businesses in the US. The entire Defense Industrial Base (DIB) is now required to protect Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) and any system containing or transmitting CUI must comply with NIST 800-171. Soon, all companies doing business anywhere within the federal government will be required to comply with NIST 800-171 as well.
Doing so is a new experience for many companies and understanding all aspects of complying is difficult and trying. As a result, Imprimis Inc. has established a webinar series to help inform all who are in the process of complying with cybersecurity standards for the first time.  The first series is directed towards compliance with NIST 800-171 as follows:
  • A major topic is addressed monthly and Imprimis seeks input from the community to make sure the most important topics are being addressed.
  • The webinars are presented live and recorded; attendance is free and our repository of reference artifacts are downloadable by the attendees.
  • Podcasts are being developed, in addition to the monthly webinars, and will include lectures on relevant topics and interviews with government officials, panels, senior business executives responsible for corporate risk management, and others,
  • The recorded webinars/podcasts will be mounted on the Imprimis cloud platform for viewing at anytime by registered 'Imprimis Insiders'.
  • To become an Imprimis Insider one must establish an account and pay a small annual subscription fee to defer costs - these are educational webinars/podcasts and NOT product pitches.

Topics to date include:

  • DFARS Deadline: Delayed or Not? Discusses the current guidance being issued by DoD OSD DPAP (Defense Procurement and Acquision Policy Directorate) to contracting officers on how to utilize the System Security Plan (SSP) and Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&M) during the procurement process.
  • The System Security Plan (SSP) and Plan of Action (POA&M):  Describes what is required for a SSP and POA&M and how to develop each.
  • Justifying a Cybersecurity Program: Defines major factors driving the need for a cybersecurity program - Risk Management, Regulation, Legal, and Competitive Advantage - and provides a framework for how to analyze these factors and justify and scope a cybersecurity program in conjunction with cyber insurance.

The next topics for the webinars include:

  • Supply Chain Management: Cyber DFARS Flow Down
  • Red Team Cyber Verify
  • ... and more to follow.

Test Drive 2 of our Webinar Videos:

At the right you will see a directory of two 10 minute "teasers" or previews of what our webinar productions look like.  Let us know what you think!
Again, these webinars are intended to be educational and are not product pitches. We feel that there is a lack of clarity about what is expected of contractors to comply and we aim to help provide a better understanding. Space is limited -- please register at http://www.i2compliancetools.com/webinars
